The Year ‘Round Summer Camp/Campground opportunity:  The existing Campground will  expanded into a year ‘round Summer-Winter Camp/Campground Theme Park – a throwback to the days when many kids went to summer camp for a few days, a few weeks or the entire summer.  Going to camp is the theme.  The strategy is to acquire and adapt a Summer-Winter Camp program from a renowned institution. Families will no longer need to haggle about where or what to do for the family vacation.  The kids will be able to go to camp for 2 weeks, in a controlled environment, have a memorable holiday with people their own age and the parents will be able to have the holiday of their dreams, also with people their own age.

  • Unique Destination Campground Theme Park

Capitalizing on the need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, job or family related stress, Malpeque Park will offer visitors a unique opportunity to rejuvenate themselves and their families.

Just like when, back in the day, we used to go to camp for 2 weeks or longer, Malpeque Park will give parents the opportunity to provide their kids with their own vacation while they enjoy theirs by taking advantage of all the adult activities available in PEI.  Flexible activity schedules will enable the families to reconvene for joint activities.  Based on the traditional summer camp model, its main objective will be to give new meaning to “Family Vacation”, where going to summer camp or winter camp is the theme of the park.  Imagine something like this:

Main Lodge for meals and entertainment, 4 large cabins able to accommodate complete hockey teams, 50 mini log cabins suitable for families and individual, c/w fire pit in a camp setting along with tent and trailer area and RV section. No cars allowed in the park, unless there is a handicap designation or maintenance.  Trained staffed will teach and supervise the kids in the activities below. Kids will be able to discover new abilities and interests, make new friends and gain confidence in themselves.  Activities will include:

Water Park, Maze with video, Mini Golf, Heated pools, Camp Ground Rec Centre (ping pong/teen centre), Tennis, Acrobats School, Archery, Clay Pigeon shooting range, Kite Craft and Flying, Fishing, Paddle Boats, Canoe's, Kayaking, Horse Back riding school/camp, Sailing School, Jet Ski Rentals, Cliff Diving for teens and adults, Rowing club, Lawn Bowling, Shuffle Board Courts, Batting Cages, Old Fashion large Carousel Merry-go-round, Roller Skating Rink/Ice Skating, Lagoon Village- Camp Store, Fish and Chips, Cook House Etc. Stables, Deep Sea Fishing, Diving and Scuba Camp, camp stage for Performing Arts Camp, Bicycle/wet suite/surf board/wind surfer rentals...the surf and dive shop. Camp ground would be fully supervised with many interactive activities...such as fire side sing songs, hide and seek at dusk, Beach Volley Ball, Mini daytime Olympics, Jamboree, line dancing etc. each day/week could be a  different theme. Lobster Fest, Rib Bake Off, Scouting and Girl Guide Jamborees and support for the Tim Horton benevolent camps are also contemplated.

●   Winter Camp Experience: In effect during the Holiday Season and Spring Break, the camp will offer a unique winter experience for families and individuals.  Groups such as the Boy and  Girl Scouts, Air and Sea Cadets,  will particularly enjoy the venues for their winter excursions.

● Waterfowl Hunting, Trap and Skeet Shooting: This declining sport has been very popular in the past in PEI.  In support of the Government’s effort to revitalize this sport, Malpeque intends to play an important role in its promotion by collaborating with local outfitters.   The venues at the camp will lend themselves very well for this activity.  Enthusiasts will benefit from wonderful hunting and sport shooting while enjoying the many activities and amenities available in the complex.

Just inland from the cliffs bordering the property is the village of French River, which lies right in the heart for the best goose hunting on the Island.  Hunters hunt along the shores of the famous Malpeque Bay and inland approximately 15-miles. In addition to Canada geese, they also hunt various species of ducks, including black, mallard and teal. Late day duck hunting along the shores of the Bay is also very good. The migratory bird-hunting season extends from the first Monday in October to mid-December.  Annual events such as Turkey Shoots are planned.

·        Camp Lodging and Entertainment for

C  Corporate and Sport Teams:  The camp cabins and lodging will be designed to accommodate entire sports teams to better foster bonding and team work.  This will also be ideal for corporate training and retreats.
